The time has come, you’re looking for a new apartment. Though the process is incredibly exciting, there can be a lot of things to consider. To help you in your apartment buying journey, we’ve pulled together a few helpful tips.
Visit as many as you can see
Though you may be in a rush to get your new place, it is really good practice to look at a number of apartments before you make the decision. This way you can get a feel for what you like and dislike, and what are the absolute deal breakers. You may already have some idea, but the more apartments you see, the clearer the image of what you want will become.
If you want to view our Gallions Place apartments, our opening hours are 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
Parking / bike storage
Consider the space outside the apartment, mostly in the form of a car parking, or bike storage space. If you’ve got a car, or a bike to get around, you’ll need somewhere safe to keep them secure. You will want to check what space comes with your apartment so that you’re not left lugging your bike up to your place, or having to park miles away. Sometimes this is advertised, sometimes you need to ask if you can negotiate this outdoor space outside of your apartment sale.
For example, at our Gallions Place development, there is limited car parking that is available by separate negotiation. There is also plenty of bike storage in our parking area.
Essentials close by
It’s not just your own space outside the apartment, it's what else is nearby. You will have carefully considered your location but what about local amenities? Where are you going to grab some milk from, where is the best takeaway treat, and what are the transport links like when you need to travel for work or fun? Don’t let your dream apartment plans be ruined because the nearest shop is miles away, and there’s no transport to get you there.
